Uniform Standards - Hairstyles

Students at St. Peter’s College are expected to maintain high standards of personal grooming and neatness, and to take pride in their school uniform. Extreme hairstyles will not be tolerated and boys are to be clean-shaven. Whilst the College recognises that hairstyles are a matter of individual style and taste, adherence to a uniform appearance means that we ask students to keep their hair neat and clean;

The regulations in regard to Hairstyles as stated in the Student Record Book are set out below:

Boys: Boys hairstyles must be neat and conventional, with hair above the collar. Extreme colouring/patterning of hair is not permitted. Boys should be clean shaven.

Girls: Extreme colouring/patterning of girls’ hairs is not permitted. Shoulder length and longer hair is to be tied back with a burgundy ribbon or scrunchie for classes where there are identified health and safety issues e.g. all Technology, Science and Physical Education classes.

The decision to enrol at St. Peter’s is jointly a student and family decision. It is therefore expected that all students and families have embraced the St. Peters College Uniform Policy and will support the policy.

Over the next few days Year Level co-ordinators and Home room teachers will speak to any students who need to make changes to their hair style.

Thank you for your support in this matter.
