Benefit Concert

Just over a week ago, the Catholic ethos of reaching out to those in need, was demonstrated by the generosity of our talented dancers and musicians who performed at a lunch time concert. The students performed a mixture of contemporary dance and song, as well as traditional Gospel music.  Assisted by Staff members Gina Goss, Frank Carter, Kate Williams and Matthew Sharpe were the Year 12 Group, Jordan and the Soul Brothers which includes Jordan Faamausili, Greg James, Mani Risal and Tyrone Badar. Singing traditional and Gospel songs and dressed in traditional costume, were Lossie Letele, Mathilda Leaana-Moreli, Gracia Lokeni, Chelsea Faamausili and Angeline Leaana-Moreli. Adding energy and visual creativity to the event, were the excellent Year 10 and year 11 Dance classes.

The student support of the concert was wonderful. More than 200 students were in attendance and almost $600.00 was raised on the day. Thanks must also go to the SRC representatives Samantha Barhoun and Lachlan Birsa for their efforts  in encouraging students to support those in our Pacific region, who have been so hurt by the loss and grief incurred as a result of the tsunami in Samoa and Tonga. Funds raised will be sent to the Catholic Charity, Caritas to distribute to the countries concerned.
